Zune will not power on.

To unlock your Zune HD, press the On/Off button located on the the top of the Zune HD device to turn it on. Then swipe your finger across the screen to unlock the player.

If your Zune HD will not turn on after plugging it into your computer then you need to restart the device. To do this you need to hold down the On/Off button located on top of the player for 10 seconds until it restarts. A logo will appear if you are successful.

If your Zune HD will not charge then the battery most likely needs to be replaced. You will find the guide on how to do this here. «– will add when guides are made

The Zune will turn on and charge, but there is something wrong with the screen display.

If the screen is not damaged but is frozen, try to restart the Zune. To do this you need to hold down the On/Off button located on top of the player for 10 seconds until it restarts. A logo will appear if you are successful.

If you are unsuccessful then try to re-install firmware. You will need to connect the Zune HD to your computer. Open the Zune desktop software and follow the instructions to re-install the firmware.

If the screen is either black or has a faint color, but nothing is showing, make sure the battery is working properly. If you plug in the Zune to a power source and it will not charge, the battery may need to be replaced. If the Zune is currently charged and the screen displays a faint color in the background, try allowing the battery to die, then recharge.

If the battery is functioning then reset the Zune HD. To do this you need to hold down the On/Off button located on top of the player for 10 seconds until it restarts. A logo will appear if you are successful.

If the above does not work then take out the battery and put it back in.

If you are experiencing minor flickering in the screen display predominately during a specific task (such as watching videos), don’t panic. In the Zune HD, most of these cases are not indicative of damage to your device. Try updating your device’s firmware.

If the screen is cracked but the display is working properly (the Zune is still functional), you will need to replace the glass. If the display is not working properly (i.e. will not respond to touch), the digitizer will also need to be replaced.

The Zune will power on, but will not sync music when connected to a computer.

If the device will not sync music or other content, the computer may not have the properly software provided by Microsoft for the Zune HD. This software can be downloaded at [www.microsoft.com/download]. On this page, search for Zune to find the latest version of the software.

If the device will not appear at all on the computer, the sync cable itself may be malfunctioning. This can also cause charging issues. Try using another cable to verify this is the problem. You can also try enabling wireless syncing to make sure it is not a software issue. The cable will need to be replaced if it is faulty.

If the device will still not connect and/or charge with a new cable and updated software, the sync port on the bottom may be malfunctioning. If this is the case, the logic board on the device will need to be replaced.
