Your device will not come back from the dead.
If you check your cable and see exposed wires, a significant bend, or the cable will not allow the device to charge, then it may be a faulty connection and you will need to purchase a new cord.
Test your power source by unplugging your charger and plugging it into another power source to see if it will allow your device to charge. If it charges from another source, then the original source was faulty.
If you plug in your device and it doesn’t turn on or charge within a few minutes, you may need to replace the battery. Please refer to our battery replacement guide.
Examine your devices charging port, ensure that there are no obstructions in the actual port that are blocking the charging cord from successfully attaching itself into the device. If there is an obstruction, you may need to replace the charging port.
Your device is unresponsive and your unintentional drop made it even worse.
If your phone will not turn on or the screen is frozen, it may be due to a low battery, which slows the loading speed. Plug the phone into a charging outlet.
If your screen is frozen or will not react when you tap on the screen, try restarting your device by holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds. After it turns off entirely, wait a few seconds, and then hold down the power button again to turn it back on.
If your device’s screen is still unresponsive and will not turn on or off, the screen may need to be replaced.
The device is not producing any sound through the speakers or headphones.
Your device may not be producing sound through the speakers or headphones due to the volume being turned down. Turn up the volume using the top button on the left side of the device.
If your headphones aren’t allowing sound to be heard, try using a different headset to see if the problem still occurs. If no sound is heard in your second attempt, your headphones might be broken and need to be replaced.
If your device’s speakers aren’t producing sound, you may want to have a look in the settings page of your device to see if the sound is actually on and turned up. If your device is still not producing audio, then the speakers may need to be replaced or disposed of. Please refer to the speaker replacement guide.

In many cases, the camera being overworked could be the reason for your device overheating. This can happen when long videos are being recorded. It is recommended that you take a break from filming and close the camera app.
Your device may be overheating from running unused apps while you’re on your device. If you are not currently using an app, get into the habit of closing it. This goes for tabs in your web browser as well. Disabling the location services and push notifications for the apps is recommended as well.
Using your device while charging can cause it to overheat, especially when using high CPU-sucking apps for long durations of time. If you can feel it starting to get warm, it is best to give your device a break and let it charge without usage.
If your device is frequently overcharged, that may be why it’s overheating. Only keep the device plugged into the charger until it reaches around 80% battery, then unplug it shortly thereafter. The chances of your device overheating are more likely when it is at a full charge. Charging your device to 100% also shortens the battery’s lifespan. However, if you must charge your device overnight, it is recommended that you keep it on a cool, flat surface such as a nightstand, rather than on your bed or pillow.
The power or volume buttons aren’t functioning, or you feel that they are loose or stuck.
If your power or volume buttons don’t move when you push on them, then it may be because they are stuck in your device. Use a tool such as a toothpick or small wedge to pull out the buttons.
Your buttons may be broken if they are loose or stuck inwards. If the buttons continue to stick or are loose, the buttons may need to be replaced. Please refer to our volume and power button replacement guide.
