When attempting to turn on the device with the power button, it is unresponsive. This can be caused by faulty battery, loose ribbon cables in a recently replaced battery or blockage in the charging port.

  • If your charging port seems to be clogged, try to clear any blockage with a toothpick and plug in the charger for at least 15 minutes once all blockage is clear.

  • To activate Recovery Mode, follow these steps:Press and hold the Power Button and Volume Up Button simultaneously for 10 seconds.”The Mi logo should appear; Release the Power Button, but continue to hold the Volume Up Button”Release the Volume Up Button  when the Recovery Mode screen appears”Use the Volume Buttons to select ‘Reset’ and the Power Button to confirm.”Wait until the device completely resets and if it recovers it may be that the device was on the entire time, just stuck on a black boot screen and needed to reset

  • Because these apps are specifically designed for technical support for android devices, using this app on a computer to reboot your phone is a safe toolTo utilize this tool, follow these steps:Download and install the Android Recovery software on your computer.”Select the app corresponding to your type of laptop, whether it be a Windows or Mac”Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable”Open the Android Recovery software on the computer and wait for your phone to connect to the appFollow onsite instructions

  • If the device is unresponsive, there is a big chance that the battery may be compromised.To Replace the battery, follow these steps, also outlined in [http://#|this guide]:Order a battery that corresponds to your specific Xiaomi A2Using the tools provided, carefully remove the screen and place it aside.Be very cautious not to rip or tear the ribbon connector, which is the black, paper thin strip connecting the screen and deviceAfter the screen is unplugged and set aside, locate the battery (black square in the middle of the device) and unplug its connector from the device (at the top right hand corner of the battery)”Using the pliars given to you in the kit, gently pull on the black tabs on the top of the battery”Once the battery is removed, place in the replacement and connect it to the device”Reconnect the screen and screw it back in”Charge your new battery for at least 30 min before attempting to turn on”

When attempting to download an app, error may occur and app is not downloaded. This most likely a software issue where there is not enough space for the app or the network may not be able to download the app.

  • If your device is low on space, it can stop apps downloading & installing. Try clearing some data or check if your cache is full!To clear your data and cache, follow these steps:Head to your “Settings.”Scroll down to “Application Manager.”Select “Application Manager.”Find “Google Play Store” from the selection and pick it.Finally, choose “Clear Cache” or “Clear Data."“

  • In some cases, by not having the latest version of the Google Play Store Application, certain functionalities will not work.To update, follow these steps:Open the Google Play app on your Xiaomi smartphone.Select the Menu button located at the top left side of your screen.Scroll down to the Settings option.Navigate to About and select the Play store version.An update will begin if available in your country.

When you have to restore or access partitions of the phone when it won’t properly boot

  • Hold the power button and turn off the device, wait for the phone to shut down completely.Once off, press and hold the power and volume up button until the splash screen appears.Once again press and hold the power button and press the volume up button once until a Linux command screen appears. If this does not work keep trying until successful.Touch screen navigation is not possible here, navigation is only possible by the volume buttons. The up and down will move accordingly on the list, the power button is to confirm the toggled action.Select Reboot System Now, this will take you to the android one animation and then into the regular Android operating system.

Using your computer to run commands on the Android OS to remedy some issues
