What you need

  • Lay the phone on a flat surface so the back is facing upwards.

  • Insert the pry tool into the seam and pry the back cover of the case along the seam until the cover is free of the case.

  • Remove the battery using your hands or the plastic opening tool.

              Headphone Jack
  • There should be 14 screws with a length of 3mm and one screw with a length of 6m. Remove these screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
  • Unscrew the three screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
  • These screws cannot be removed from the device.
  • Lift the housing along the edges using the opening tool and tweezers. There will be a sticky pad that holds the housing to the smartphone.

There should be 14 screws with a length of 3mm and one screw with a length of 6m. Remove these screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Unscrew the three screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

These screws cannot be removed from the device.

Lift the housing along the edges using the opening tool and tweezers. There will be a sticky pad that holds the housing to the smartphone.

Step 5

  • Using a soldering iron and desoldering pump, remove the soldered connections holding the headphone jack to the motherboard.
  • There should be 6 soldered connections holding the headphone jack to the motherboard.

Step 6

  • After the connections have been removed, the headphone jack will be free of the motherboard and will need to be removed. Remove the headphone jack by picking it up with tweezers.
  • Place the new headphone jack where the old one was and solder the connections back to together.
  • Your new Headphone Jack has been successfully installed!
