- Remove the cover from the back of the tablet. Using the pick tool, pry the cover the case. Do this by starting in the upper corner, working around the edges until the cover unclips from the case.

- Find and detach all of the connections to the motherboard. Remove the connections while leaving the components in place from the battery, camera, ground wire, plastic connections at the charging port, and the 512MB DDR3 SDRAM.
- Remove the connections using a soldering iron and desolder pump to remove the current soldered connections.

- Replacing the defective motherboard with a functional motherboard: Reattach the connections at the battery, camera, ground wire, plastic connections at the charging port, and the 512MB DDR3 SDRAM.
- Reattach the connections by soldering them back onto the motherboard using a soldering iron.
