Robot dog’s hind legs will not respond, stuck in “down” position
Go into the WowWee CHiP Robot Dog app and select settings. In settings there is a calibration button that will run the robot dog into calibration mode for about 30 seconds. If legs do not work, consider replacing the WowWee CHiP Robot Dog’s hind legs.
Many users experienced miscalibration with WowWee CHiP Robot Dog and did not find solution to hind legs being permanently stuck.
The wheels of WowWee CHiP Robot Dog falling off or breaking
Make sure the color of the wheel resembles the color of the peg. If the colors match and wheels do not work, the wheel may be broken; remove the wheel by turning the wheel cap and then pull the wheel off. If colors are not matched, remove it as mentioned earlier and grab wheel that matches peg. Next, turn the wheel and once the shape fits into the peg, push in. If wheels are borken, visit WowWee’s parts store to find replacment wheels.
The wheels are built in such a way that WowWee made it easy to replace them. Please see how to replace the wheels in the replacing wheels guide.
CHiP will not respond to any voices unless they are deep in tonal range
Go into the WowWee CHiP Robot Dog app and select Settings. Once in the Settings, select the “Change Voice Command” tab. The app will then have you say easy triggers for CHiP to understand. When saying the new commands, do so in different tones, this will allow CHiP to respond to many different voice ranges.
CHiP does not respond to Smart Watch commands/Smart Watch buttons don’t work
The best way to fix this problem is to bypass the watch altogether and download the “CHiP- Your New Best Friend” app which is available on iOS and android. The app has all the same buttons and functions of the watch and allows you to control CHiP in many different ways without having to constantly reprogram the watch.
CHiP does not charge on the charging bed after sometime of use
If CHiP stops charging on its charging bed, unplug the cord that plugs into the charging bed and plug it into the port located on the front of CHiP right next to the on switch, that is the direct charging port and should fix your problem. Make sure that CHiP’s software is all up to date, if so try recalibrating CHiP instead, sometimes there is a slight error in CHiP’s system that can easily be fixed with a simple update.
