If you experience this problem, File and print sharing for Microsoft Networks is not installed on your computer. To fix the problem, follow these steps.

  • Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click Network.

  • Click Add, and then click Service.

  • Select Microsoft, select File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, and click Ok.

  • Reboot the computer and issue should be resolved.

If you perform the steps above, but you are still prompted for a password, it could be that another user account set up the Internet. If so, try logging in as that user, and repeat the steps above.
