Introduction
The drain pump forces water from the bottom of the washing machine to the drain hose. Drain pumps tend to fail over time due to mechanical or electrical failure. If water is getting trapped in the washer tub, then your drain pump needs to be replaced.
Always unplug washing machine before starting any repair.
What you need

- To ensure that no more water passes through the washer, shut off the water by turning both handles all the way to the left.

- Use a 1/4" socket or screwdriver to remove the sixteen 15 mm screws securing the rear access panel.
- Remember: turn left to loosen and turn right to tighten!

- Pull the drain pump wire connector straight out of its port.

- Place your bowl or container under the drain hose before removal to catch any excess water that may be in the hose.
- Use pliers to release the clamps securing the drain hose to the drain pump.
- Pull the drain pump out.

Step 6
- Use a 5/16" socket to remove the two 50 mm drain pump mounting screws.
- There is one screw on each side of the pump.
- Pull the drain pump down to remove it.
- If it is difficult to remove, you can wiggle the pump in a side-to-side motion until it releases.
