Initially released by Justin Frankel on April 21, 1997, Winamp is a media player for Windows-based PCs and Android devices. Winamp, currently a subsidiary of AOL, can play MP3 files, CD audio files, Audiosoft, Mjuice, MOD, WAV, AAC, FLAC, and other major audio formats.
