WDF may refer to any of the following:

  1. Formerly known as the Window Driver Foundation, WDF is short for Windows Driver Frameworks. It is a collection of libraries used to develop Windows device drivers. WDF was introduced with Windows 2000 and has been available for all later versions of Windows, and is comprised of KMDF (kernel-mode driver framework) and UMDF (user-mode driver framework).

The idea behind WDF is to help reduce duplication and overhead and allow developers to use the same concepts across different drivers.

  1. An alternative acronym sometimes used for WTF.
