Also known as access point mapping, Wardriving is locating and logging onto open wireless access points while driving down streets. It was largely popularized by Pete Shipley after he developed a method of automating the process using dedicated software and a GPS. Wardriving allows an individual to create a list of open networks in any area and if unsecured, come back and browse them freely.
