Founded by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein in November 2004, Vimeo is a website that allows users to upload and share videos with one another. As of 2021, the Vimeo.com website had over 230 million registered users.

The website supports HD video and since August 2010, encodes all uploaded videos into the H.264 format for HTML5 compatibility. Standard users, called non-Plus users, are allowed to upload a total of 500 MB of standard definition and one HD video per week. Plus users, who pay $84 a year, are allowed to upload a total of 5 GB of video per week, including an unlimited number of HD videos. A Pro membership is also available for $240 a year, allowing a total of 20 GB of video uploads a week.
