Released in 2014, Vidme, formerly known as Viddme, was a video-sharing website that allowed users to upload videos quickly without requiring them to create an account. Its goals were to simplify the video-sharing process and allow small content creators to make money through paid subscriptions and tips. According to the developers, the user interface was influenced by the layouts of Reddit and YouTube.

In 2017, Vidme was shut down due to difficulty with migrating audiences from larger websites like YouTube and Facebook, and its inability to regulate monetized advertiser-friendly videos. The website was purchased by the GIF sharing website, Giphy, which has since integrated features from the platform.
