Alternatively called un-erase, undelete is a software utility or command that restores a deleted file to a file system. Whether or not a file can be undeleted depends on several factors, including:
- How the file was deleted, and how long ago.
- What operating system is used to access the file.
- The type of file system containing the deleted file.
