The document area is the blank section of a Word processor or other document program that allows the user to create content. Below is an example of a blank Microsoft Word document with the white page being the document area. When a document is opened, you can begin typing, and your text appears in the document. If you click something outside your document, click inside the document to position the text cursor at the point clicked, and continue typing.
