First announced on October 2, 2019, the Surface Duo is a foldable smartphone manufactured by Microsoft. Instead of featuring one flexible screen, the Surface Duo features two separate displays that function as part of the device, similar to handheld gaming consoles (e.g., Nintendo DS). Other unique properties of the device include support for the Surface Pen, running two apps simultaneously on each screen, and the ability to prop your phone up using the foldable hinge.

Unlike previous phones from Microsoft, which used the Windows Phone operating system, the Surface Duo uses Android. Microsoft and Google features are present on the phone, allowing users to choose which services best suit their needs.
