Released in November 2019, Stadia was a cloud-based gaming service developed by Google. The service gives users the ability to stream games from a server to any device capable of running an Internet browser. A controller is also available, which connects directly to the Stadia server, rather than to the user device.
Stadia can be accessed using the official website, or the free mobile application for Android and iOS smartphones. Stadia Base is free to use with a limited frame rate and resolution. Stadia Pro users access the highest frame rate and resolution available, with access to a free library of games on the platform for a monthly subscription of $9.99 US.
