Solo may refer to any of the following:
- In general, solo describes a person doing something themselves, without anyone in their presence or helping them. If a person is doing something alone, they are doing it solo.
For example, the statement “they played a guitar solo” means a person played their guitar, by themself, with no other instruments playing or accompanying vocals.
With computers, an Intel Core Solo processor is a version of the Intel Core Duo processor with one enabled core. Similarly, the Core 2 Solo is a processor in the Intel Core 2 family with only one enabled core.
In gaming, solo is a mode where the player only plays against NPCs and no other real players.
