- Restoring is taking a window that was minimized and enlarging it back to maximized or its “Normal” size. Restore also refers to taking a maximized window and reducing it to a “Normal” size. In Microsoft Windows, this action can be carried out using the three-button menu (shown right) found in the upper-right corner of a window.
