Refurbish is restoring a device or piece of hardware to “like new” condition for resale. While buyers should exercise caution with refurbished products, they are a great way to get what is more or less a new device while saving a substantial amount of money.
What makes something refurbished?
A refurbished part or computer may have been sold to someone and returned for any of the following reasons.
A refurbished computer may also be called a renewed computer.
- Computer or part was defective.
- Computer or part was thought of as defective and was not.
- Computer or part had a blemish or other flaws that were not acceptable to the original owner.
- Computer or part had a missing part, so the unit was sent back.
- The user was unable to afford the computer or part and had to return it.
- Was the wrong part or computer for user and user opened the box.
A refurbished computer or part is labeled as a refab, refurb, refurbish, or refurbished and is sold at a lower cost than the non-refurbished computer or part.

When buying any refurbished product, make sure it includes a warranty covering your purchase for at least 90 days.
