Short for remote access server, RAS allows users using either TCP/IP, IPX, or NetBUEI from a modem to log onto a Microsoft Windows NT network.
Short for row address select or row access strobe, RAS is signal that the CPU or other hardware device, such as a video card, sends to the RAM. The signal contains information about where to locate the data in a row in the computer RAM.
