Power may refer to any of the following:

  1. Electricity used by a computer or other electronic devices is often called power. In the United States, power coming from a standard wall socket is AC, which is converted to DC by the computer’s power supply. The picture is a power warning sign, indicating the danger of electrocution.

  2. When describing a computer in general, power describes the computer’s capabilities, such as how fast it is. A computer’s overall performance is often determined using benchmark software.
