Opt is a user’s acceptance or participation of a program. For example, a user who chooses to opt-in to an e-mail newsletter starts receiving that newsletter until they choose to opt-out. Many e-mail solicitations sent by companies offer a way to opt-out from further correspondence by clicking ‘unsubscribe’.
