Opaque may refer to any of the following:
Alternatively called opacity, opaque describes a graphic, image, or graphic element that is not transparent. For example, the left portion of the Nokia cell phone picture is set to 100% opacity and looks normal. However, the right portion of the phone is set to a 50% opacity, making the right-side appear partially transparent.
When referring to a hardware device or software program, opaque can have more than one meaning. It can mean not letting any information through at device or program, or a device or program that lets information through without processing it.
