OnLive was a cloud-virtualization service company founded in 2003. Its flagship cloud gaming service launched on June 17, 2010, providing users with limited access to select video game titles. The graphics and game logic were processed remotely on high-end hardware, with audio and video output streamed over the Internet. Compatible devices included desktop computers, HDTVs, and mobile devices.
On April 30, 2015, all OnLive services were discontinued. Its patents and intellectual property were sold to Sony Entertainment, who launched its PlayStation Now cloud gaming service in January 2015.
