A nudge may refer to any of the following:

  1. In Adobe Photoshop, nudge is a feature that allows an object to be moved. For example, if you’re working with a layer, you can press the arrow keys to nudge that object in any direction, one pixel at a time. Holding down the Shift and pressing an arrow key nudges a layer ten pixels at a time.

  2. When referring to the MSN IM (instant messenger), a nudge refers to a feature that alerts a user with a noise and a shaking window. A nudge may be sent by someone interested in chatting and can interrupt other programs currently running.
