The Media Player Classic Home Cinema, or MPC-HC, is a light-weight and improved version of the Media Player Classic application for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It is available for both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems (minimum Windows XP with Service Pack 3).

MPC-HC allows users to play videos from multiple sources, such as VCD, SVCD, and DVD, and comes with built-in codecs for MPEG-2 videos. It includes support for other formats and codecs, like 3GP, AC3, MP2, and DTS audio.

MPC-HC can also remove tearing in video playback, supports enhanced video rendering, and accepts additional decoders, like H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 with DirectX video acceleration support.

Software terms, VLC, Windows Media Player

MPC-HC has not been in development since 2017 and recommends trying an alternative solution such as VLC.
