MacPup is a Linux operating system based on Puppy Linux, designed to run on Apple computers. By default, it uses the Enlightenment desktop environment to provide a dock interface similar to macOS.

Like Puppy Linux, MacPup runs entirely from RAM and is less than 100 MB in size. It does not need to be installed on a hard disk to run. Instead, it can run from a CD or USB flash drive, with only the user’s information (files, preferences, installed programs, etc.) written to disk or USB. It is efficient and performs quite well, especially on older Mac systems.
