Short for logical link control, LLC is the upper portion of the data link layer defined in IEEE 802.2. The LLC provides the user an interface to the data link layer of the OSI model and provides a uniform interface for users of the data link service. Additionally, logical link control handles error checking, flow control and frame synchronization. Today, 802.2 is considered inactive.
Short for limited liability corporation, an LLC is a corporation started by small businesses or business owners. LLC allows a business to be a corporation without the high taxes and holds only the company responsible, not the owner.
