LiveScript may refer to any of the following:

  1. The original LiveScript was the name for what we now know as JavaScript, renamed in 1995 after Sun endorsed the language. Before being named LiveScript, the programming language was called Mocha.

  2. Introduced in 2011, the second iteration of LiveScript can compile to JavaScript. It provides improved object-oriented programming options and allows users to develop expressive scripting without the need for boilerplate code.

LiveScript is one word and not two words (i.e., live script).

LiveScript is a fork of Coco and is indirectly related to and compatible with CoffeeScript.
