Kies or Samsung Kies is a software utility that allows users to transfer files between a PC and an Android phone. Samsung also uses this utility to offer firmware updates and synchronize and backup files from the phone to a desktop computer. This tool may use both USB connections and a wireless counterpart. Kies does not use the phones data service but must be using a Wi-Fi network to transfer files.
