Interleave may refer to any of the following:
- When referring to a computer hard drive, interleave or interleaving is a method of making data accessed more efficiently by organizing the sectors on the hard drive.
Interleaving techniques
One-to-one - Sectors are placed on a track. Two-to-one - Sectors are spread out by other sectors.
- When referring to computer memory, interleaved memory is system memory divided into two or more sections. Interleave allows for memory to be accessed faster because each section of memory is capable of being utilized at once.
