Started in November 2003, ImageShack is a free image hosting service that allows anyone to save their images online. It has become a popular site for users to store their images. Users can store pictures of various types, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF, and the file size must be 5 MB or less.

During peak operations, ImageShack was said to have served 100,000 concurrent user requests. The primary method of uploading pictures is through the imageshack.us website, but a desktop application is also available. The desktop app is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
