Alternatively called the Columbus method. Hunt-and-peck is an improper form of typing where the user looks (hunt) at their keyboard for location, then presses (pecks) the key, generally using only their index fingers.

This form of typing is always slower than someone who touch types and often causes neck strain because you need to frequently look down at the keyboard.
