H may refer to any of the following:
The letter “h” is chat slang for “how.” For example, “h2” in chat is short for “how to.”
H is a keyboard key used with the keyboard shortcuts Alt+H, Command+H, and Ctrl+H.
With Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs, “H” is the eighth column of a spreadsheet. To reference the first cell in the column, you’d use “H1.”
In Adobe Photoshop, H is a shortcut to select the hand tool.
With a measurement or 3D environment, H is short for height.
With time notations, the lowercase h is for an hour. For example, with a long time it may be formatted as “h:mm:ss tt,” which is the same as “hour:minutes:seconds AM/PM.”
The lowercase h is the SI-derived symbol of hecto.
In the phonetic alphabet, “H” is often pronounced as “hotel.”
H is the eighth letter of the English alphabet. The letter “H” comes after “G” and is followed by the letter “I.” To create a capitalized “H,” press Shift and H at the same time.

In ASCII, the uppercase “H” is “072” in decimal (01001000 in binary). The lowercase “h” is “104” in decimal (01101000 in binary).
Doing the Alt code Alt+72 creates a capital “H” and Alt+104 creates a lowercase “h” character.
The number 4 on a phone keypad is used to create an “H” on a US phone.
