Greeking is a method of displaying small text by software programs. Because some text is too small to display on monitors, they are displayed as fake characters or gray lines. You may see Greeking in a computer game that shows text in a book as small lines or text, or in a print preview. The picture is an example of Greeking that helps show the overall layout of the page, but for the most part cannot be read.
