Introduced initially as Google Shopping Express on September 25, 2013, Google Express was an e-commerce platform operated by Google. The website offered products from a group of partnered retail stores, including Target, Costco, Walgreens, and Fry’s Electronics. Shipping costs varied based on the retailer where the item was purchased. However, all retailers offered free shipping on the platform once a certain dollar value was reached.
In 2019, Google Express was shut down because many of its retail partners favored selling products on their own websites. Features from Google Express were later added to Google Shopping.
