GEM, short for Graphics Environment Manager, was one of the earliest GUI (graphical user interface) available. It was the primary GUI on early Atari ST computers. It was also an available option on some IBM PC-compatible computers. GEM was also used for the creation of programs in the MS-DOS operating system.
