Fuchsia may refer to any of the following:
- Fuchsia is an open source operating system first released on August 15, 2016, and was developed by Google as an RTOS (real-time operating system). Fuchsia is based on a microkernel called Zircon, unlike Google’s Chrome and Android operating systems, which are based on Linux kernels.
Inspection of the Fuchsia code suggests it is designed to be used on embedded systems, personal computers, smartphones, and tablets. It was originally developed with a command line interface and updated in May 2017 to include a graphical user interface.
Apps for the Fuchsia operating system are created using Flutter, a cross-platform development kit. Flutter allows for app development for Fuchsia, Android, and iOS operating systems.
- When referring to a color, fuchsia is also known as magenta. See our magenta page for further information about this color.
