The Front-facing camera or selfie camera, is on the front of a device, like a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. On a smartphone, it is generally used for taking pictures of the user and others at close range. For laptops and tablets, it is primarily used for video chat calls, such as FaceTime or Skype. The front-facing camera generally has a lower megapixel count than a rear-facing camera.
