Initially released on June 21, 2011 by Macromedia, Final Cut Pro is professional non-linear video editing software for macOS computers. It features a graphical user interface similar to Apple’s iMovie, but with a much larger library of effects and video manipulation controls. Final Cut Pro offers color correction, masking, transitions, audio optimization, compositing, and procedurally-generated effects. The interface includes the timeline, browsers for files and effects, and a preview window.
The latest versions of Final Cut Pro support 360-degree video editing, up to 8K resolution, and integration with iMovie projects. Final Cut Pro can be purchased from the Apple App Store for a retail price of $299.99.
