Released in 2016, Figma is user interface design software for developing app and website interfaces. It uses vector graphics and visual editing tools to allow developers to build and fine-tune interfaces. It also has several collaboration features to allow several designers to work together in real-time. Unlike other UI design programs, such as Adobe XD, Figma is a web app, allowing anyone with an Internet browser and an account to use the tool.
Figma offers three different pricing options, with a limited free version, and two paid subscription tiers for different types of teams and users. The first tier, a $12 per month version, is available for free by students and educators.
On September 15, 2022, Adobe announced it planned to acquire Figma for $20 billion.
