Initially released in 2017, the Essential Phone was a smartphone created by Essential Products. It ran a stock version of Android and was the first phone to feature the popular notch design to house the front-facing camera and speaker. It also had a fingerprint reader on the back and two cameras.
Despite the popularity of the first Essential Phone, it was discontinued in 2018, and the company stated no new versions of the device would be released.
