Short for Enhanced Small Disk Interface, ESDI is an early interface found on IBM high-end PS/2 computers for hard drives, tape drives, and diskette drives. ESDI was capable of transferring data at about 1 MB to 3 MB a second.
Today, ESDI is outdated by storage interfaces such as IDE, EIDE, and SCSI.
