DragonFly BSD is an open-source operating system first developed in 2003. It was created by FreeBSD developer Matthew Dillon as a fork of FreeBSD, influenced by his work on AmigaOS. It features a unique approach to message passing in the kernel, called LWKT (lightweight kernel threads). Its default file system is a redesign of ZFS called HAMMER2.
