Short for drive letter access, DLA is a discontinued Microsoft Windows technology originally developed by VERITAS (now Sonic Solutions). It allowed users to write data to a CD-RW disc as if it were any other writable disk.
DLA was discontinued after the introduction of Windows Vista and replaced by Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning, which offers the same capabilities without the incompatibilities. DLA is also not supported in Windows 7 or Windows 8.
