CTO, short for chief technology officer, or chief technical officer, is an executive-level person in charge of technological software and related issues within a company. Their primary responsibility is to work with the IT staff to solve any problems relating to the technology which keeps the company running.
The role of CTO and its duties may vary depending on the organization. Usually, the CTO reports directly to the CIO (chief information officer).
