Short for color lookup table, CLUT is a method used to transform a range of input colors into another range of colors. In some cases, a CLUT is a function incorporated in an image processing application. Color lookup tables are also used in graphics cards and graphics formats, like GIFs.
How does a CLUT work?
For example, a device (e.g., video card) could take colors stored in each pixel of video memory and convert them into visible colors on a computer monitor or another display device.
