Technology used in microprocessors to instruct information twice the normal bus speed. The Intel 80486 DX2/50 MHz was the first processor with clock-doubling and was capable of running doubled to 50 MHz. Today, clock-doubling is not required as the CPU runs independently of the FSB (front-side bus) and connects directly to the Northbridge.
